    TUTORING

Maybe Eric should have been a teacher. He was always eager to share his skills and knowledge with others. Although he was very dedicated to his "day job," Eric found opportunities to tutor high school kids in calculus. He soon added English, history and even religious studies.

    FROM ERIC'S TUTORING CLIENTS

Lori - Eric had a profound effect on our entire family, especially our youngest son Ryan, who Eric has been tutoring since 7th grade. Because of Eric, Ryan has dreams of attending an Ivy League College. Ryan was so so impressed with how Eric just knew everything without ever needing to even look at a book! Eric was truly a unique person marrying the wisdom of an old soul and the zeal and enthusiasm for life of a young person. We were constantly impressed with his knowledge, his adventures, and how fully he lived.

Ryan - Throughout the past 4 years, I have looked up to Eric and strived to be like him. Eric always was able to brighten your day with just one laugh or one joke. Eric was brilliant and I always asked him how he knew everything about everything. When he was tutoring me, he was able to jump from subject to subject with ease. Eric was and always will be my role model, he was the nicest, most kind hearted, brilliant, and loving person I've ever been around. He treated me like his little brother and I will miss him every single day.

Nancy - Eric tutored both of our kids, Alex when he was really struggling and failing in college (and life) after his freshman year and Mary when she was in high school and determined to get all A's. Eric was so gifted, in so many ways. He was part of our lives every week for 2+ years and some of those days were very challenging for us as a family. He was sensitive, wise, and caring….not really knowing our challenges, but helping us through them. It was always so great to have Eric come smiling up to our door. I could write a book about how special, important, meaningful Eric was to us.

Mary - I got an A in every math class I took after tutoring with Eric, but it was so much more than that. Eric showed me how to buckle down, and truly work hard. All of my grades improved to A's, and I decided I was going to do whatever it took to get into USC, and to do that I needed to improve my ACT score. Eric and I went over countless problems, discussing strategies for going quickly and ways to maximize my score. The night before the test, Eric sent me a good luck text (as he always did before my tests), and the second I got out I made sure to let him know that I killed it, thanks to him. I'm now studying at USC and couldn't be happier. Eric changed the course of my life, and without him I would not be where I am today.

Eric was one the kindest people I've ever met, as is proven by his last text to me. He had just congratulated me on one of my college acceptances, and I told him I only got in because of him, and I wasn't a "math whiz" like he had said. He responded, "Okay how about a genius? Guru? Champion? Master? Star? Choose whatever word you want, but just be sure it is a great one!" All those great words and more describe Eric, and I will forever be grateful for having met him.
